Professional Learning Day at University of Sydney

"FINDING OUR HOMELAND: From MY PLACE to AUSTRALIANS ALL." Reflecting the Indigenous principles of learning that Nadia Wheatley experienced while working in the Aboriginal community of Papunya (NT), this workshop will engage you in a way of learning that has country at its centre and story as its expression. For teachers of Stage 2 and 3, this holistic, cross-curricular professional learning day will be invaluable in addressing a range of standards across KLAs including English, History, Geography and the Creative Arts. The workshop will include insights into the books MY PLACE (illus Donna Rawlins) and AUSTRALIANS ALL (illus Ken Searle), as well as hands-on experience of a number of rich tasks.
