After returning with her family to Australia in 1964, Charmian Clift made her home in the Mosman area of Sydney. This was the time when the author was writing the radical weekly newspaper column that made her a household name. The author’s life during these years will be illustrated by a series of informal family photographs taken in April 1969 at the invitation of Clift’s elder son, Martin Johnston, by his university friend, Andrew Jakubowicz.
